Dr. Jordan B. Cooper, an ordained Lutheran pastor, has an impressive educational journey:

He graduated from  Geneva College in 2010 with a degree in Biblical Studies.
He pursued further studies at The Wittenberg Institute, earning his Masters in Theological Studies in 2012. His thesis focused on early patristic soteriology and the new perspective on Paul.
Jordan continued his theological education at the American Lutheran Theological Seminary, completing his Master of Theological Studies (MTS)(now an MDiv) in 2015
He embarked on doctoral work at the South African Theological Seminary (SATS), under the guidance of Lutheran theologian Daniel Lioy. His dissertation explored radical Lutheranism and the scholastic method.
Alongside his degrees, Jordan received the Frederick Beuchner Award for Excellence in Writing, a prestigious honor.
As a pastor, he served at Hope Lutheran Church in Brighton, IA (2012-2014) and Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka, IL (2014-2018).
From 2018 until the Summer of 2020, he was a ministry fellow with Christian Union at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
Jordan founded the Lutheran educational organization Just and Sinner in 2012, dedicating his time to publishing, writing, teaching, podcasting, marketing, and fundraising¹.
In 2020, he was called by the American Association of Lutheran Churches (AALC) to serve as the President of the American Lutheran Theological Seminary, where he also teaches systematic theology and leads the accreditation process.
